【摘要】:Reportedparticlesizemeasurementisafunctionofboththeactualparticledimensionandshapefactoraswellastheparticularphysicalorchemicalpropertiesoftheparticlebeingmeasured.Cautionisrequiredwhencomparingdatafrominstrumentsoperatingondifferentphysicalorchemicalparametersorwithdifferentparticlesizemeasurementranges.Sampleacquisition,handlingandpreparationcanalsoaffectthereportedparticlesizeresults.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofthesizedistributionandquantityofparticulatemattercontaminationfromaerospacefluidsisolatedonamembranefilter.Themicroscopicaltechniquesdescribedmayalsobeappliedtootherproperlypreparedsamplesofsmallparticles.Twotestmethodsaredescribedforsizingparticlesasfollows:1.1.1TestMethodA8212;Particlesizesaremeasuredasthediameterofacirclewhoseareaisequaltotheprojectedareaoftheparticle.1.1.2TestMethodB8212;Particlesizesaremeasuredbytheirlongestdimension.1.2Thetestmethodsareintendedforapplicationtoparticlecontaminationdeterminationofaerospacefluids,gases,surfaces,andenvironments.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thesetestmethodsdonotprovideforsizingparticlessmallerthan5x03BC;m.Note18212;Resultsofthesemethodsaresubjecttovariablesinherentinanystatisticalmethod.Theuseofthesemethodsasastandardforinitiallyestablishinglimitsshouldbeavoidedunlessampletolerancesarepermissible.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
