【摘要】:ThispartofISO13317describesamethodusingapipettetodetermineparticlesizedistribution,typicallyinthesizerange1μmto100μm,bygravitationalsedimentationinaliquid.NOTEThispartofISO13317mayinvolvehazardousmaterialsoperationsandequipment.ThispartofISO13317doesnotpurporttoaddressallthesafetyproblemsassociatedwithitsuse.ItistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthispartofISO13317toestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityoftheregulatorylimitationspriortoitsuse.ThemethodofdeterminingtheparticlesizedistributiondescribedinthispartofISO13317isapplicabletopowderswhichcanbedispersedinliquidsorpowderswhicharepresentinslurryform.Themethodisapplicabletopowdersmadeupofparticleshavingthesamedensityandofcomparableshape.Particlesshouldnotundergoanychemicalorphysicalchangeinthesuspensionliquid.Itisnecessarythattheparticleshaveadensityhigherthanthatoftheliquid.

【摘要】:Severalmethodshavebeenemployedinthepastfordeterminingtheresistanceofactivatedcarbonstoparticlesizedegradationunderserviceconditions,includingtheball-panmethod,thestirringbarmethod,andthedustelutriationmethod.Noneofthesehasprovedcompletelysatisfactoryforallapplications,andallhavebeenquestionedbyASTMCommitteeD28onActivatedCarbonastestsforestablishingdegradationresistance.However,theball-panmethodhasbeenusedwidelyinthepastandhasabroadhistoryintheactivatedcarbonindustryformeasuringthepropertylooselydescribedasx201C;hardness.x201D;Inthiscontextthetestisusefulinestablishingameasurablecharacteristicofacarbon.Concedingthefactthatthetestdoesnotactuallymeasurein-serviceresistancetodegradation,itcanbeusedtoestablishthecomparabilityoflotsostensiblyofthesamegradeofcarbon.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminingtheball-panhardnessnumberofgranularactivatedcarbons.Forthepurposeofthistest,granularactivatedcarbonsarethosehavingparticles90%ofwhicharelargerthan80mesh(180m)asdeterminedbyTestMethodD2862.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3sibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
